GKN Aerospace has initiated a project for DataNovata applications to reduce cost, improve accessibility and meet compliance regulations for some of its databases. This is part of GKN’s overall IT modernization strategy.
The first application to be retired and replaced using DataNovata, will enable GKN Aerospace users to trace parts back 3 or 4 decades within an easy-to-use, web-based, read-only application.
A key influencer for the decision to license DataNovata was the opportunity to decommission the original application hardware and software after implementation. DataNovata, offers a cost-effective and easy to use solution to unlock from this platform and still be able to maintain ease of access to essential parts data.
The expected timeline for delivery of the DataNovata application is 8 weeks. Data migration and application design services for the DataNovata PICS application will be provided by NSC Legacy Data Systems Ltd. of Manchester, UK, an independent software solutions provider.
